Hong Kong’s First-Ever Virtual Fashion Show and Immersive Metaverse Experience

HKFDA teams up with Quantum Matrix and ManyMany Creations to reinterpret fashion creativity and traditional craftsmanship with the city’s first-ever virtual fashion show and interactive exhibits, building an immersive “fashion metaverse” built to inspire new ideas on fashion design, operations, and sales. 

Juxtaposed 2022 FASHION META unites 70 local fashion design units across different generations and styles for a physical exhibition. With cutting-edge 3D scanning technology, their varied narratives will be translated into precise data and rendered by 3D animators into virtual masterpieces combined with avatars and “future humans” on real and surreal platforms.

The exhibition takes place in the central district of Hong Kong. From a distance, the general public can see the four-screen windows outside the exhibition. Empowered by cutting-edge technology, the screens turn into a visually-striking showcase of super-giant models. These models were ‘scanned’ from real human models and rendered to be all these stunning avatars moving naturally on the three-dimensional runway show.

In the building of the Hong Kong first-ever fashion meta-universe, the physical installations of 70 local fashion design units were processed by our patented QFit technology and graphic programmers using virtual fabric physics technology. The dimensions of these pieces were carefully measured and analysed to meticulously present an accurate mix of materials, tailoring details, craftsmanship and the motions in the digital realm. As a result guests will be able to see the actual pieces and life-size virtual renderings on this innovative occasion.  

Guests mesmerised in this surreal world having a novel interactive and immersive fashion show experience. As soon as guests enter the exhibition space, they can take a portrait shot at the on-site photo booth and enter their details such as height and weight to immerse themselves in the “JustaVerse” world.  Our patented QHuman system will generate a real-scale 3D avatars in real-time for guests to “virtual try-on” the wearable art pieces by various designers in our another patented QFit system. Guests can also choose different thematic backgrounds and immediately leap into the JustaVerse and become one of the models on the virtual runway. Guests will receive their avatar video by email as a little souvenir marking their first fashion-universe experience.

These models are the results of real models being scanned and rendered using our QHuman technology, which gives these stunning avatars their vivid complexions, demeanours, and natural movements on the 3D runway show.
